1st Workshop on Internet of Things, Process Modelling and Microservices (IoTM'17)
Prague, Czech Republic, 3 - 6 September, 2017
IoTM'17 is joining IWCPS'17 and the accepted IoTM'17 papers will be presented within the IWCPS'17 conference
While the initial IoT community was built around Wireless Sensor Networks, nowadays we deal with far more heterogeneous kind of devices aiming to get connected each other and with third party services therefore monolithic architectures no longer align with an environment where every device has computer power capabilities and wireless connection. Intelligent IoT devices are event-driven, agent-based, network connected systems, rather than simple sensor networks and this makes IoT architectures challenging. As IoT systems must be able to scale and evolve over time adapting to new hardware, technologies and requirements, a very promising response is the Microservice Architectural Style that gained a lot of popularity in the industry in recent years. Among other methodologies, IoT ontologies and rule-based modeling of Microservices will insure IoT interoperability as vendors have published their protocols, and have exposed API’s to their various hubs.
The 1st IoTM workshop invites paper submissions from diverse communities, including researchers from: universities, companies, government agencies, and standardization bodies. Papers are sought that address solutions to problems in above discussed areas of architecture, modelling and implementation of IoT, Business Processes and Microservices.
